What is NUFS?
The Northwood University Fashion Showcase, or NUFS, is a completely student-run, full-scale runway production. Northwood University students lead every aspect of the show—from marketing and finance to production, styling, and creative direction. This year’s show includes looks inspired by the musical segments of Style & Sound, such as pop, rap/hip-hop, rock & roll, classical, country western, and house music. Student designers create original pieces using their own techniques, while stylists collaborate with statewide retailers to curate outfits.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes! Tickets will be available at the door; however, we encourage purchasing ahead of time, as ticket prices will increase by $5 at the door.
What do I wear as an attendee?
For an event like Style & Sound, attendees are encouraged to wear something that blends personal style with musical influence. Think expressive, creative, and fun, whether that means bold colors inspired by pop, edgy details inspired by rock, western flair, sleek modern house-music vibes, or a classic elevated look. There’s no strict dress code, come as your most authentic, stylish self and feel free to incorporate the rhythm and personality of your favorite music genre.
Where is the show?
The show is held at Northwood University in the Hach Student Life Center, located on the south side of campus. Please refer to the provided map. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our team and directed where to go.
What is the theme of the show?
This year's theme, Style & Sound, celebrates the powerful connection between music and fashion. Each segment is inspired by a different genre, classical, country western, rock & roll, house, rap/hip-hop, and pop, showing how rhythm, culture, and creativity shape the world of style. The show highlights how music fuels expression, individuality, and innovation, creating an immersive experience that brings fashion to life through sound, movement, and storytelling.
What time do doors open?
General admission will begin at 6:00 PM, and tickets will be available for purchase at this time. Seating will open at 6:30 PM. Guests can enjoy an extended Northwood Marketplace shopping experience featuring student designers and other vendors while waiting for seating to begin.
